The Nursery is Ready!!

All we need now to make the nursery complete is the baby! We look forward to enjoying the room with her. We tried to create the perfect sweet and cozy place for our beautiful baby girl to lay her head.

2 Weeks to go (or less)!

Today is exactly 2 weeks from Mabry's due date of January 12th. I'm 38 weeks pregnant. Needless to say, I am so ready! I'm can't wait to see her and hold her. I have talked about it for so long that I am now growing impatient. Also, the aches of my body are constant reminders that she will be here soon.

Chad and I enjoyed a restful Christmas at home because of doctor's orders. We definitely needed the rest and relaxation and had a great opportunity to enjoy one of the last times that it will be just our family of two.

Keep checking back as the time gets closer. I will fill you in more once Miss Mabry makes her appearance!

Mabry in 3D

At 29 weeks, we had the wonderful opportunity to view Miss Mabry in 2D/3D/ and 4D. My mom, dad, and sister came in town to see her in 3D/4D with us. It was so neat! We were able to see her features and joke about the traits we think she has adopted from both her parents. In this picture, there are shadows on her head. Though it may look like it, this is not hair. However, we were able to determine in some pictures in 4D that she does have hair. The sonographer pointed out the fuzzy glow around her head and noted that it was her fine baby hair. We have unanimously decided that she looks just like Chad. After seeing this, we definitely look forward to seeing her in person and holding her close to us!

Once Upon a Time...

Once upon a time...
Chad and I met while at college at the University of Central Arkansas. God brought us together with his perfect timing. We started dating in March of 2004, fell in love, and married in July of 2005. Right after we married, we moved to the North Dallas area. We have been here ever since. We love our friends here and all the area has to offer!
Chad and I were blessed this past spring with the exciting realization that we were pregnant. We experienced all emotions rolled into one over the next few weeks as the pregnancy sank in. We had our first doctor's appointment on June 13th, 2008 where we confirmed the pregnacy and that it was healthy. The baby's heart rate was fast and the baby was wiggling around a lot. That day, Chad called it. He said we were having a girl...

At our 20 week appointment, we were very excited to find out that Chad was right. We were going to have a baby girl! My mom and dad joined us for this appointment so we got to share our joy of this blessing with them. We had a name picked out so we immediately named our precious girl, Mabry Elizabeth. Mabry is a name that I have seen and really liked. It also has significance to my family being the last name of one of my dad's favorite baseball players, John Mabry. Elizabeth will be 4th generation on my side of the family being my great-grandmother's middle name, my grandmother's middle name, and my sister's middle name. I'm excited she gets to carry this beautiful name on.

It has been a lot of fun to watch myself grow over the weeks and know that we have a healthy, sweet girl growing snuggly within.

Currently, I am 30 weeks and 3 days. I feel her move, kick, punch, and hiccup so much now that I wonder if I remember what it felt like before her. With 10 or less weeks left, I have to admit that the anxiety is building. One great piece of advice that I take to heart is to take it one day at a time. As I think about the journey ahead, the sweet times and the rough times, I know that God will take care of us. It is comforting to know that we trust a powerful, loving, and all-knowing Lord.

1st Post

After much coercing from friends of mine, I decided to give a blog a try. I agree with them and know it is a great way to keep friends and family up-to-date. I hope to get the hang of this soon and be able to share the exciting and even some of the mundane things that we have the joy of experiencing. Thanks for stopping by!
