Stroller Skate

Mabry and I went roller skating! It was so much fun! We skated along with Pam and Grayer. A roller rink in Plano offers 'stroller skate' once a week from 9-12. This is just what it sounds like and just what our picture shows. You get to push your stroller around the rink as you skate. Pam and I thought we would give it a try, and we loved it! I admit this kind of skating is much easier. I loved having the stroller to balance me because if you know me well, you know about my lack of coordination. Skating is a fun change from the normal stroll that Mabry and I usually take. We will definitely be doing this more often!

15 Months Old!

Mabry turned 15 months old last week! I know now what every mom means when they complain about their child growing too fast! I am overjoyed as I watch her growing into a little girl. She even loves carrying a purse around and plays with dolls now!
We went for her 15 month doctor visit this week.
Here are her stats:
Weight: 23.8 lbs - 50-75%
Height: 31.8" - 90-95%
Head: 18.5" - 90%
He said that she was 'Excellent' - Very social and very verbal. He also gave me the 'Attaboy' that I always love to hear from the MD.
Miss M has a large vocabulary. Some of her newest words are: home, up, apple, spoon, animals (ah-mals), tiger, movie, cheese, cookie... Some of her favorite words are: Mommy, Daddy, doggy, kitty-cat, bye-bye, uh-oh, ball, snack (nack), bobby (which is her word for any fruit). She understands so much of what we say these days that Chad and I catch ourselves spelling often. Some of her favorite things to do right now are read her books, sing, dance, and play outside. She has just started 'hiding' from us and says 'Boo' when we find her. This is just the tip of how much fun we have with our 15 month old!

Stroll at the Zoo

We had a beautiful day at the zoo! We couldn't have asked for better weather! Chad's softball team registered as a team in the Stroll for Epilepsy. By donating for the cause, we received free parking and admission to the zoo. Once we were in, we stopped to say 'hi' to all the animal exhibits. It was so cute to see Mabry say, "Hi Bubby" to all the birds and "Hi Doggy" to some of the other animals. She wanted to give all the animals love and kisses. I think we have an animal lover on our hands. We really enjoyed seeing her as she experienced her first trip to the zoo. Hopefully, there will be many more zoo trips to come!
Ready for the stroll...
Mabry had a couple of friends that joined her for the stroll. Ian (18 months) and Sarah (21 months).
As we were about to leave, we thought we would try for one more family picture. It was so bright!

Happy Easter!

This year we got to spend Easter in San Antonio with Brad, Rhonda, Annabelle, and Harris. Chad's parents were there for the weekend also. We love being able to spend holidays with our family. The Easter Bunny came to see Mabry at Uncle Brad and Aunt Rhonda's house. Her favorite things from her basket were the 'Cutie' oranges and a bunny shaped straw cup.
We got to go to an Easter egg hunt at the church Brad and Rhonda attend. It was a lot of fun to see all the kids so in to it. Mabry, however, still probably needs another year before she gets it completely. She really loves her baby cousin Harris (and his baby seat) so she just wanted to be close to him the majority of the time.
Mabry didn't get much of a head start on the older kids in the egg hunt. By the time she realized what to do, all the eggs were found. However, my creative little girl was not backing down from the challenge. She found a few 'Easter rocks' to put in her basket.
