Play-time at the Park

It has been very nice weather here the past couple of days. I wanted to take this opportunity to go outside for fresh air and a change of scenery. Mabry and I invited Grayer and his mommy, Pam, to come over to play at our neighborhood park with us. We had a such a great time. Mabry and Grayer loved crawling through the tunnels and up the stairs, swinging, and going down the slide with Mommy. I loved all the little giggles and smiles that appeared as we played. I am looking forward to this spring and the many times we will play at the park.

Weekend with Aunt Amy

Mabry loves her Aunt Amy! Aunt Amy came to see us for the weekend. She was here from Friday morning to Monday afternoon. We had a great time! Mabry and Aunt Amy share a common love- books!
Mabry is getting better every day at walking behind her push toys!
The girls!
We enjoyed $.99 breakfast at the restaurant inside IKEA before we walked to whole store and made a few fun purchases! It is such a neat place!

Frisco Library Story Time

Mabry and I love to go to the story time at the Frisco Public Library. It is a great, interactive story time for babies birth to 17 months called Babies and Books. This story time includes songs, rhymes, a story, and baby signs. During the story each baby gets their own book to look at and and turn the pages. They also have a time where the baby gets to hold a toy such as a ball or rattle of some sort to promote the a multi-sensory experience. Mabry loves watching the other babies and taking all of it in. Yesterday, we met our friends Grayer and Pam there. The story time theme was 'Cat Tales'. Our favorite! I know this story time and ones like it will help fuel Mabry's love for books!

Happy Birthday, Mabry!!

Happy Birthday!!
Has it really been a year?! My sweet baby girl turned one today! Even though today begins the toddler years, she will always be my baby. I love her more than I can express. Chad and I have been so blessed to have such a beautiful, fun, and wonderful girl to celebrate.
We began the day with her 12 month doctor's visit. She received an A+ from the doctor.
Mabry is now drinking cow's milk. She does great feeding herself and drinking her water and juice from a sippy cup. We are working on getting her to drink her milk from a sippy cup.
Mabry can say 9 words: Daddy, Mama, kitty, ducky, ball, bow, dog (she barks also), hi, uh-oh
She can sign more, all done, bye-bye, eat.
She also sings E-I-E-I-O quite frequently.
Here are her stats from the doctor's appointment:
Weight: 21 lbs 12 oz - 50-75%
Height: 31 inches - 97% (she's tall!)
Head: 18.3 inches - 90-95%
She had to get 3 shots today. This picture was taken after the shots. I believe she is thinking Why did I have to get these mean shots on my birthday?!
For lunch, I took Mabry to one of her favorite places, Chick-fil-A. A couple of her friends, Gavin and Grayer, and their mommies met us there. I believe she's thinking
What a birthday! Lunch with two cute boys!!
After a good afternoon nap and playtime, Mabry got to go eat pizza! I guess she inherited the love for pizza from her mother. Matt and Gina celebrated with Mabry, Chad, and me.
Mabry loves a party!
She got to enjoy a little more of her birthday cake tonight after her pizza.
My one year old is now sleeping soundly in her crib, worn out from a day full of birthday songs, wishes, and kisses. Though I do not want Mabry to grow up too fast, I look forward to celebrating her birthday with her in the years to come.

Mabry's 1st Birthday Party

We celebrated Mabry's first birthday with a family party at our home on Saturday, January 2nd. Mabry's grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins from Arkansas made it for the party. I have planned and dreamed about her first birthday party for a while now. With the help of my mom's creativity, a few balloons and decorations, and a friend that makes great cakes, I do not think the party could have been any more perfect for our little cupcake!
The gift table
Her first smash cake- It was a little intimidating. She did not know quite what to do with it.
A cake the perfect size for her.
She tore into it, loving it!
If you know Mabry, I'm sure you can hear her making her 'yummy sounds' as she eats the cake and icing.
One tired birthday girl! It is hard partying all day!
