Swing Higher!

Last week we enjoyed AR spring break at Grandmother and Granddad's house. Grandmother surprised Mabry by having a swing put up for her in the back yard. It was a hit! That's ALL Mabry wanted to do at their house. She would say "I want to swing. I swing higher."

We were in Arkansas last weekend visiting with Mammaw and Pappaw. While we were there, Mabry was introduced to Mammaw's piano. She told Mammaw "Put your glasses on and play piano."

Ski Apache, New Mexico

While Mabry had her own little vacation at Grandmother and Granddad's house in Arkansas, Chad and I  got 7 days to be 'just us' again. We took a much needed winter vacation to Ruidoso, NM. We met Brad, Rhonda, and Annabelle there. (Harris got to stay with some friends in San Antonio.) We had such a fun time taking it easy and spending time together. 

On our first day there, we snow tubed! They had 2 to 6 person tubes. Our favorite was the 'hot dog' tube where we all got to ride together.

The next two days, we hit the slopes of Ski Apache. I took a ski school class to learn the basics. It was a rough start, but I made it. Then with the encouragement from my patient husband, I learned to ski! 

Annabelle also went to her own ski school and learned to ski too. I think it is great that she is learning at her young age (5). She picked it up so fast!

Here I am staying up on my skis and actually posing for the camera. It was a great feat for me to be able to stop, turn around, and pose while on those skis. :)

There was a beautiful lake with the snow-capped mountain in the background. We used this great scenery for our photo-op. 

Like old times, Brad and Chad decided to wear their matching shirts to play-up being twins. 

This was such a great time! We know we are so fortunate to take trips like this and make these everlasting memories.
