Clark's First Haircut

At 8 months old, Clark got his first haircut.
What made this first haircut extra special was that my grandpa, a retired barber, got to help shape up Clark's sweet baby hair.
Once the hair was trimmed around his ears and a little taken off the top, Clark began looking more like a little boy.
Clark did great! He sat still for the majority of the cut. Papaw knew he had to work fast to get a good cut on a baby. He knew exactly what he was doing and enjoyed doing it.
I am so thankful for this special moment that was made extra special through family ties.

Nashville Weekend Kid Free

Chad and I got to enjoy our Labor Day weekend in Nashville, TN while Mabry and Clark got to spend some fun times with Grandmother and Granddad.
We met up with my best friend from college, Rebekkah, and her husband, John Paul. They live in Bowling Green, KY so only a hour from Nashville. We don't get to see them very often and this was a rare time to hang out without our kiddos.
How refreshing!
We had a great time hearing live music on Honky Tonk Row with the highlight being our wonderful dinner at the local restaurant, Merchants. Great food, atmosphere, and of course, company!
The next day, Chad and I explored the Nashville sights starting with the Country Music Hall of Fame. We then headed to famous Jack's BBQ. It was well worth the wait. I think it was extra good because I finally got to sit down in air-conditioning and fill my grumbling stomach. :)
We tried to see the Ryman but ended up being 5 minutes too late for a tour.
We ended by going to the Grand Ole Opry and Opry Mills.
We enjoyed the history of the country music we love and our time with some very special friends.

Preschool 2012

Mabry started preschool yesterday. We know we will have another fun-filled year at school this year.
She is going on Tuesday and Thursdays from 9 to 2 again this year. This works out perfect for both Mabry and Mom. :)
Here she is with her new teacher, Ms. Heather.

Computer Time

I captured this picture of Mabry and Clark playing together with their 'computers.' She got her Leapfrog computer and got Clark's baby computer for him so they would both have one.
She is such a good, thoughtful big sister.
I pray she always will be.
But of course, the real treat is when she gets to play games on Mommy's computer!
We have started 'computer time' this summer so that Mabry can get familiar with the navigation tools and how a computer works. She loves playing the learning games on Nickjr.com such as Dora or Fresh Beat Band. I am also excited to know that she has a computer class this year at her preschool.
Before too long she will surpass my computer knowledge! :)

Dance!

Mabry has started dance class. She loves it. She has been to two classes and has had a big smile on her face for the whole 45 minutes of the class. If you have been around Mabry for very long, you know that she loves to sing and dance. This is her chance to learn some moves and learn to coordinate her body. We sure hope she gets the dance gene from her daddy!
Here are the girls pretending they are ballerinas.
She has two other girls in her class so it is a very manageable number.
I love these action shots because you can see her in the mirror also.
Please excuse my reflection in the window. This was the only way I could get to pictures.
Mabry has a blast doing this with her new friends and we know the recital will be adorable.

Clark is 7 months old!

I finally get to post these adorable pictures of my handsome baby at 7 months old.
He is such a delight!

He is not crawling yet so he is content to sit in the floor and play with as many toys as he can reach.
He even enjoys dress up. He had a little help from his cousin Annabelle for this picture. :)

One of our favorite past-times is jumping!
He just learned that he can grab his toy box and dig through it or for even more fun, dump it!
I'll be posting his 8 month pictures next week!
Doing it like this really makes it seem like he is growing up too fast!

Lost Cord

I have misplaced my camera cord and have been searching everywhere for it. I hope I will find it soon or get a new one. My camera is filling up with cute pictures that I can't wait to share!
